Origami installation7th August 2006On Friday June 23rd 2006, the origami installation by artist-in-residence at the Manchester clinic, Suki Chan, was officially launched. Funded by the Arts Council, Suki had held a year long residency at Phoenix Mill, the OCC clinic in Manchester, running monthly workshops with local school children and producing origami cranes for the installation. Origami cranes were chosen as they are a bird that represents peace and hope, and the installation is a symbol of the hope the OCC represents for many of the children who come for treatment at the clinics. |
